Picket Fences

For many years, the picket fence has been a symbol of an American ideal. Though an older design, new styles and applications have continued to demonstrate the practicality and effectiveness of the picket.

Picket fences typically leave more than a one-inch space between boards and tend to be shorter in height. They usually instill a sense of boundary more than that of privacy and are great for children, pets, and pools.

The boards -- or in this case, 'pickets' -- can be customized to any width or height and include a variety of top options from flat-top, to standard point, to dog-eared corners. Consider scalloping or crowning fence sections for a uniquely-shaped look. Or, consider spindle pickets rather than more traditional boards for an elegant and modern style.
